FLORIDA POWERBALL® TICKET WINS LARGEST JACKPOT EVER!
~ Sixth POWERBALL jackpot-winning ticket sold in Florida ~
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that one lucky Florida Lottery player matched all five numbers and the Powerball in the Saturday, May 18, POWERBALL® drawing, winning the record-setting $590.5 million jackpot.
"This is Florida's sixth POWERBALL jackpot winner, adding to our record of the most POWERBALL winners of any state since the game was introduced in Florida in January 2009," said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell. "It is also a big win for public education. This series of POWERBALL jackpot rollovers generated more than $40 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund."
The winning numbers were 10-13-14-22-52 and the Powerball was 11. The winning ticket was purchased as a Quick Pick at Publix, located at 7838 Gall Boulevard in Zephyrhills. The retailer will receive $85,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The Florida Lottery POWERBALL jackpot winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim his/her prize. However, to elect the one-time, lump-sum cash payment option, the claim must be filed within 60 days after the winning draw date.
