ST. CLOUD WOMAN TO BUY NEW HOME WITH $2 MILLION SCRATCH-OFF WIN
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that Maranyely Cruz, 48, of St. Cloud, claimed a top prize in the $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
When asked what her plans are for her winnings, Cruz said, "My first big purchase will be a home. I am thankful to God for this win, so I also want to share this blessing with my family."
Cruz chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,453,078.40. She purchased her winning ticket from Citgo Express, located at 2501 13th Street in St. Cloud. The retailer received a bonus commission of $4,000 for selling the $2 million winning ticket.
The $10 Scratch-Off game, $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH, features more than 6.3 million prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000 and eight top prizes of $2,000,000. The game?s overall odds of winning are one-in-3.46.
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 64 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $640 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2013-14.
